Abortion
An abortion can be performed in the Netherlands up to 24 weeks in normal conditions (when not eg to the life of the mother is). There are several ways of abortion:
Abortion Pill
The abortion pill has been used since February 1, 2000 in The Netherlands and can be taken until 49 days after the first day of the last menstrual period (= 3 weeks overdue). This pill will losen the embryo from the uterine wall 83% of the time and cause an abortion. Combined with a low dose of prostaglandins percentage is increased up to 96%. 1 to 3 days later than misoprostol administered to inducing labor.
Abortion by suction curettage
When suction curettage, the fetus is removed from the uterus through a tube connected to a vacuum pump. This method is only suitable up to 12 weeks in a woman who hasn’t had children and up to 14 weeks for women who have already borne children, because after this time the body of the fetus will be too large to pass through the tube. The procedure can be done under general anesthesia or local anesthesia and takes about 15minutes.
Prostaglandine treatment
A prostaglandin treatment is usually used at a gestational age greater than 13 weeks, the doctor breaks the amnion, so the amniotic fluid drains into the womb and the fetus dies. The woman then gets labor inducing prostaglandins which they injected, after 6 to 12 hours a lifeless fetus is born. During this treatment they administered Valium, so it is not too painful.
Dilation and evacuation of embryotomy can be applied when suction curettage is no longer possible. First, the cervix is widened with the aid of drugs. Then the woman is sedated and the doctor removes the fetus in parts with from the uterus.
Intact dilation and evacuation can be applied at a gestation of more than 28 to 30 weeks. This technique is very rarely used. This form of D & E is performed under anesthesia after the cervix is dilated. The doctor pulls out the fetus partially out of the wombwith an instrument, feet first. Then, through an incision in the skull base to the cranial capacity is removed from the fetus causing the death. Finally, the fetus is removed in its entirety from the uterus.
Cesarean
If abortion can not be done by dilation and evacuation, the fetus is very exceptionally removed by caesarean section.
Possible complications
Although abortion is not a major hazard if this surgery will be performed by an experienced physician, there is always risk of complications such as infection, bleeding, perforation of the uterus, blood clotting disorders or cervix tearing. Complications occur in approximately 0.8% of abortion procedures. The most common phenomenon after an abortion is a few days more than normal flow. The use of a sanitary napkin is then usually sufficient.

Aphrodisiacs
An aphrodisiac (plural: aphrodisiacs) is an agent used for the purpose of sex, so to stimulate more interest in sex. The word is derived from the name of Aphrodite, the goddess of fertility, the earthly love and beauty in Greek mythology. Many of the aphrodisiacs are proven to not work!
Garlic and ginseng are known from experiments that they increase the hormone levels. Alcohol is known that it remove inhibitions.
Some substances, like Spanish fly, are effective in animals, but toxic and therefore prohibited. Preparations sold under that name therefore contain something else, such as cayenne pepper.

AIDS
Acquired immune deficiency syndrome or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a disease of the human immune system caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The illness interferes with the immune system, making people with AIDS much more likely to get infections, including opportunistic infections and tumors that do not affect people with working immune systems. This susceptibility gets worse as the disease continues.
HIV is transmitted in many ways, such as: sexual intercourse (including oral sex and anal sex); contaminated blood transfusions and hypodermic needles; and exchange between mother and baby during pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. It can be transmitted by any contact of a mucous membrane or the bloodstream with a bodily fluid that has the virus in it, such as the blood, semen, vaginal fluid, preseminal fluid, or breast milk from an infected person.
The virus and disease are often referred to together as HIV/AIDS. The disease is a major health problem in many parts of the world, and is considered a pandemic, a disease outbreak that is not only present over a large area but is actively spreading. In 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that there are 33.4 million people worldwide living with HIV/AIDS, with 2.7 million new HIV infections per year and 2.0 million annual deaths due to AIDS. In 2007, UNAIDS estimated: 33.2 million people worldwide were HIV positive; AIDS killed 2.1 million people in the course of that year, including 330,000 children, and 76% of those deaths occurred in sub-Saharan Africa. According to UNAIDS 2009 report, worldwide some 60 million people have been infected since the start of the pandemic, with some 25 million deaths, and 14 million orphaned children in southern Africa alone.
Genetic research indicates that HIV originated in west-central Africa during the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. AIDS was first recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 1981 and its cause, HIV, identified in the early 1980s.
Although treatments for HIV/AIDS can slow the course of the disease, there is no known cure or HIV vaccine. Antiretroviral treatment reduces both the deaths and new infections from HIV/AIDS, but these drugs are expensive and the medications are not available in all countries.Due to the difficulty in treating HIV infection, preventing infection is a key aim in controlling the AIDS pandemic, with health organizations promoting safe sex and needle-exchange programmes in attempts to slow the spread of the virus.

Anal balls/beads
These are balls which are interconnected by a thread. You can find them in the anus (in men) or in the vagina. Lubricant is recommended. The balls can be used for extra stimulation when masturbating or for example as part of foreplay. They can also strengthen your orgasm when you pull out just before orgasm.

Anal sex
Penetration of the anus.

Androgyny
to feel androgynously: a person who feels him/her self not masculine and feminine, feels very masculine and feminine or someone who stands between the two sexes.
Being androgynous of his / her own free will: a person who does not wish to conform to the male-female dichotomy. This can have several reasons, such as a spiritual, as far back in antiquity. Importantly, because God is seen as masculine and feminine and the complete man can therefore only ve masculine and feminine, androgynous. Androgyny can therefore also be considered an alternative lifestyle.
To express himself / herself androgynously: a person who displays physical characteristics of the opposite sex, without completely going through life as someone of the opposite sex (see transgender). This can be expressed by means of his / her clothing, makeup and / or behavior. Sometimes it happens that someone has an androgynous appearance, only in response to the prevailing fashion or as a rebellious attitude. Many musicians use to a greater or lesser extent, an androgynous appearance. For example: Patti Smith, Bill Kaulitz of Tokio Hotel, David Bowie, Brian Molko of Placebo, Antony Hegarty of Antony and the Johnsons, supermodel Agyness Deyn, Prince, Michael Jackson, Boy George of Culture Club and (in the extreme) the band Marilyn Manson. It is also an important part of the appearance of Japanese Visual-kei bands.
Often people have characteristics of all three descriptions.

Anilingus
Licking the anus.

Anorgasmia
The inability to achieve orgasm during intercourse, especially among women. Anorgasmia can result from fear of being caught, conflicts with the partner, lack of tenderness or technique with the partner and guilt or shame. Sometimes there is a deeper problem, where therapy with a sex therapist is needed. In men this can in some sense be compared with impotence. occurs in about 10% of women.

Anus
Your asshole, the end of your intestinal tract.

A-spot
The A-spot is kind of equal spot as the G-spot is only the A-site in a slightly different place. This is more towards the uterus and is therefore more difficult to achieve than the G-spot. For many women this is not accessible.

Areola
The dark area around the nipple.

Aseksuality
In the broadest sense, the lack of sexual attraction or interest in sexual acts. Because asexuality is innate or at least deeply rooted, it is similar to a sexual preference or orientation. By some it is also viewed as the lack of a sexual orientation.

Artificial insemination
Artificial insemination (AI) is a technique to achieve fertilization if fertilization does not come through normal intercourse. The word refers to the word semen insemination, which means seed. In artificial insemination, sperm is placed the uterus or cervix.
